ABOUT TINYVETERANS
WHO IS BEHIND IT ALL?
TinyVeterans is currently a one-man business:
- Simon, Owner, Designer, Painter, ...
Sometimes he gets help from his sister.
HOW EVERYTHING STARTED
It all started with Simon's interest in designing micro-scale vehicles for Brickmania®s fast-paced tabletop strategy game Micro Brick Battle™.
After he got his first 3d-printer he started by designing custom parts for his builds. Sometime later he started making hats and helmets for Minifigures.
Once he had some good-looking headgear he contacted Brickssoldier to ask if he would sell the stuff on his website. He kindly helped out and the rest is history :)
WHAT DO WE OFFER?
We offer 3d-printed and hand-painted accessoires for LEGO®Minifigures and MOC's. Currently most of our products are WW2 themed. This will change in the future.
WHAT IS OUR GOAL?
We try to create the best quality hand-made accessoires on the market. Therefore, we take our time doing research, designing, 3d-printing and then handpainting them with great care and attention to detail.
OUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE
In the future, we will expand our product range and offer more accessories from all eras of history. Next to all our historical stuff we also want to offer fictional (pop culture, sci-fi, etc) accessories.
We also have plans for custom display solutions, custom printed parts and Minifigures.
PRODUCT JOURNEY
-
1. IDEA
During the first phase we choose an idea for a new product. This can happen idependently or with the help of our awesome community on our Discord server.
-
2. INFORMATION
In the second phase we collect information and reference material about the product. This is essential for the next phase.
-
3. DESIGN
The design phase is the most important one. With the help of the before-gathered information and reference material we create a 3D-model.
-
4. TESTING
During the testing phase we 3D-print one or multiple prototypes. This helps to ensure that the model has the perfect size and fit for a Minifigure.
-
5. 3D-PRINTING
Once we have the final version of our model we will start 3D-printing it in larger quanities.
-
6. POST-PROCESSING
The amount of post-processing needed depends on the 3D-model. Most of the time this process includes sanding down the most visible layer lines or support points.
-
7. PAINTJOB
Painting our models takes the most time. The prints are first primed and then all the details are added.
-
8. PAINTJOB DRYING
Before we can apply a layer of clearcoat above the paint everything has to dry. This is to prevent the clear coat from being damaged.
-
9. CLEARCOAT
After the paint has dried we can apply a coat of varnish. This ensures that the paintjob is better protected against scratches and other damages.
-
10. CLEARCOAT DRYING
After we apply the clearcoat everything has to dry for at least 48 hours. After that the products are ready to be sold in our store.
-
11. RELEASE
After successfully capturing product images and uploading the corresponding information onto our store, the products have now been officially released.
-
12. SHIPPING
Once an order is received, the products are carefully packed and shipped in a small aluminum box.
